Don't you just love it when deep inside you knew something would rock and then it happens....it really does ROCK!
I invested heavily in Localism and Listing Router (now called Hit Router). I have been posting fun stuff to Localism forever and sponsored a numbers of areas in the Shasta County area. I then combined Hit Router with a new IDX solution and set it up so that anyone looking in our area has the opportunity to find me....way cool!
Guess what....it's working nicely. Now through Localism and the cities and communities I sponsor, it is my search site and website that comes up and through Hit Router I quadruple that effect to dominate this area.
I truly am a broken record about how incredible ActiveRain is and how we have a "sling shot" effect here within the RAIN! I constantly try to help people see how truly amazing being in this forum is and the learning and leading edge advantage that is available to us here. Not to say that you can just join AR and it will happen. You definitely need to work at it, however when you do the benefits will pay off greatly.
I've talked before about a DKR (Dynamic Knowledge Repository). This term was a "think tank" term we used 20 years ago in the "Bootstrap" forum with Doug Englebart. We were certainly speaking on a huge magnitude of application, however what we are provided here within ActiveRain the opportunity to build DKRs for our clients on specific areas with hyper-local information that includes market data and the experience of living in the area.
How completely cool is that. I still wake up everyday and think OMG it's real and I can play with it all I want. I'm doing so and it soooo works. I get calls weekly and sometimes daily.
Here is the link to a post I wrote some time ago about the business development aspect of at that time "Listing Router".
Post #2 on a prototype of the infrastructure. I should do an update on what's really built now.
You gotta say "Rockin in the RAIN" is pretty cool.

Good to hear you are getting results. I have had a few hits from localism so I am pleased as well
That's great that it's all working for you. In my area, the Hit Router keeps outbidding me so I just put that money into more PPC which still brings up my blog.
Jeanean, congratulations on your success. I set up listing/hit router only about a month ago but haven't had any results from it. Still, I think I will try a few other towns as well and see whether they will get better results.
I tried the hit router out for a few weeks and didn't get but 1 click (which turned out to be James checking out how it worked) so I'm not sure how good it is in my area.
Congrats to you thought!
Sincerely,
Kathleen
Hello Everyone! Thanks for coming in on this. I guess I would have to say that it is a long term strategy and that you have to build the infrastructure around it. It means sponsoring or at least contributing to Localism regularly and then developing an IDX custom solution that allows you to create dynamic links for certain communities and/or cities in your area. Now you are ready for Hit Router. It's not one thing you do but all the things coming together that creates greater opportunity for the consumer to find you.
I do thank you for the clarification. I commented on your follow-up looking for some clarification. No longer needed. I see the explanation now.
Jeanean,
Great job. Way to use the tools that are there and get the payoff from them. :)
Steve
Singing in the rain? Congratulations.
Jeanean -- really great news. I set up the hit router some time ago -- and am not sure how it woks -- it just seemed like a good thing to do. WIth your post, I can see I have to do some different things as well. Post more frequently to Localism -- and see about this IDX option. I have IDX already -- so I'll have to do some research and get clear about it.
Jeanean, I am happy to see you are reaping the benefits of the hit router. I hope to see the same results from using it one day. :)
Chanda panda
Jeanean - Glad to hear it is working for you. From the comments seems it will do better in some areas.
Hey Jeanean, Sov very glad your hit router is working! I have set mine up, but not luck yet. Mabe I will get lucky like you, if I keep working at it. Thank you for sharing your info!
Hi Jeanean, glad to hear that your hard (and fun ) work is paying off.
Hit Router is working great for me, too. We don't have IDX for our MLS, so I (my daughter/webmaster) created a sign up on my website for MLS listings, which is a homemade IDX. :)
It is so worth the money.
I need to go back and reread some of your older posts on what I need to do to take advantage of Hit Router.
Hello Everyone, I'll go back and put up the old post links that I wrote for everyone. Thanks for coming in on this and commenting. I'll add the links in the comments and also in the post. Thanks everyone.
Here is the post.
Thanks for sharing that info I've been wondering if that service worked & was worth it
always good to hear what others have been using successfully, good luck to you
I am getting some stuff from my PPC side of the hit router. I do not know what kind of traffic I am getting on the free side. That would be nice to know.
Great post. I bookmarked it. I'm working on implementing this quickly.
Nothing from 'hit router' yet....only been on it a month or so, though...
Nothing for me so I scraped the whole thing! Very disappointing, I'm so glad that it is working for you in your area. I'll come back & check out the other posts you did on the subject!
Jeanean. I started using the Hit Router a few weeks ago. Hits...yes...lots. Clients none yet. I will try it for at least a month or two.
Hi Jeanean, I have signed up recently for the hit router. I have had some hits, but no clients. I am glad you are enjoying the benefits of the hit router! I will try it for a while, and hope it brings some clients. It would be awesome, if indeed it did bring clients. I will look at some of the other things you are doing. thank you so much! great blog!
