Lassen National Volcanic Park is only 1 hour away from Redding and opens a huge expanse of Wilderness area for the hiker, fisherman and those whom appreciate the beauty of Nature!
Manzanita Lake on the North East Side of Lassen National Volcanic Park.
We are going to have fun with Trees tomorrow and identifying the topography by the Trees we see!

I like your enthusiasm for your area...interesting name for the lake. Manzanitas actually grow on my Canadian Gulf Island!
Love the pictures. I am from Oregon and have visited there many times. Thanks!
Li, thanks and you are correct....I love the are we live in. I lived several places in my lifetime where Manzanita grows. My husband has made sculptures from the wood. It's very beautiful!
Mike, next time you come for a visit...look me up. We really love Lassen as well. Every time we get a day....it's hard to decide which direction to go....but Lassen is my favorite. It is such a huge wilderness area that you could spend a lifetime exploring it!
You're getting really good with that new toy, Jeanean! Funny thing - I was thinking about Lassen the other day. It's been years since I've been there. . .I'm long overdue!
Myrl, this is actually my old camera. I've been a roving reporter/photographer for the last three years and so I have many old photos and I'm just reworking them to enhance them. It will take me another three years to put together work with my new toy. We have a number of trips planned for the Summer. Castle Crags and Burney Falls. We also have a number of trips planned for the Western direction of Trinity County. Of course, we will go back to Lassen. I could spend a life time there...exploring and doing photo shoots. I really want to focus on the wildflowers of Lassen. Thanks for the visit!
What gorgeous views to gaze on. How relaxing it must be to live in your area!
