Redding CA - Sacramento River View - Speechless Sunday!
View of the Sundial Bridge in the distance with the Lassen Mountain Range beyond. Beautiful country we have here in Redding and Shasta County CA.
I am Jeanean Gendron, your Redding and Shasta County Specialist. You can reach me at 530 276-7417. I answer my phone.

That is a really nice part of the country. We've enjoyed Lassen Park and hope to get back there again soon.
Jeanean - what a beautiful photograph, love the colors. It really is a beautiful part of the country.
In our area there are many bridges of similar look they were WPA projects I wonder if this was one too. Great shot thanks
Hi Jeanean ~ That is a glorious view. Hard to keep your eye on the road with views like that.

The river is beautiful but it's your blue skies that I kept staring at...wishing they were here- or I was there!
Glenn, we love it as well. We plan to spend our retiring years exploring that wilderness country. We love the topographies and studying Nature as you move through the different elevations. I love the wildflowers and my husband loves the fish as in fishing. We are fly fishermen and will be exploring the Hat Creek. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come for a visit soon. Look us up and we'll talk about Lassen.
Sharon, I only adjusted slightly on colors for this photo. It was a glorious day and so the beauty just jumped out. I like this photo....but I'm beginning to start to develop more of any eye for the shot. A beginning for me. If I would have moved just slightly to include the pilar on the right....I would have had a better shot. My husband just bought me a monopod that collapes and that I can slide into my camera case. Now it can go with me anywhere and I can use it to steady the shot and take more time when traveling. I love learning and my new camera is quite the challenge for me. I certainly love learning from the best! I am so fortunate to have so many great photographers here in the RAIN! Thanks for the visit!
Gee Charlie...I have no idea. That would sure be a question that David (my husband) would be interested in and me too. My neighbor has lived here since O dark hundred and so we can ask him. He's like a complete treasure to us and always keeps us out of trouble. He is a treasure trove of knowledge and information on the area. We will ask Charlie (neighbor...how funny is that)....and see if he knows. Inquiring minds want to know!
Hello Elizabeth! It does look like a road and it once was. It use to be the two lane bridge many years ago. It now is a walking bridge that connects the walking and biking trails for people using the extensive trail system here in this area. Definitely one of the things people living here in Redding love and really utilize. Staying healthy and getting exercise while enjoying beauty....works for me. I wonder how old that bridge is. I'll add that to the list of things to ask my friend Charlie!
Carole, we had the most beautiful day that day. It was last summer. It is so winter and sterile right now that it is hard to want to photograph it. We did have blue skies yesterday but I did not get out to enjoy them. Worked all day and made my Husband unhappy with me. I just had to work on getting caught up. I wish I could sent you those blue skies. We all are affected by the weather. Wishing Blue Skies for you!
