Released from Bloomberg today on their site and in the August edition of Bloomberg Markets that Wacovia and Bank of America laundered money for the Mexican Drug Cartel. Here is an except from the post on Bloomberg:
'The smugglers had bought the DC-9 with laundered funds they transferred through two of the biggest banks in the U.S.: Wachovia Corp. and Bank of America Corp., Bloomberg Markets magazine reports in its August 2010 issue'
I would guess that the Banks never really needed that bailout....they seem to have many irons in the fire! I'm just dying to know what WILL BE NEXT!
Should we have a contest on the craziest things you can think of that you would never believe could be real....but are?

Oh my goodness, will the madness ever stop? This is the kind of stuff that makes me crazy.
This is so sad. It's been clear for some time that Mexico has become a criminal enterprise. Now we see the depths to which the U.S. banks are engaged in that criminality.
Perhaps we need more lectures form the President of Mexico.
all i can say is wow. This is sad, but not surprising.
I made myself a promise not to put up any more negative things....but GOSH...what was I to do. I have to admit that even I am surprised by this.
I think that having helped people with short sales for the past 2.5 years....I've become disillusioned with the "big machine" mentality of our World. It applies across the board and on many levels.
However, I vowed most recently to not "go there" but to concentrate on the good things that are also happening.
Let's hope this is my last post about such a surreal set of circumstances. I have watched WEEDS a few times and while it is rather "off beat", I came away thinking I could not relate. Maybe I'm not much of a realist after all.
Hello Paula, I so hope you are doing better and gaining in strength each day. You must be....with a post and commenting! I'll come for a visit soon.
Lenn, I am not sure what we need but I wish it would come. We can only hope that the fact this it comes to the surface, is a good sign.
Dave, really....not surprising? I have to admit that it blew me away. Thanks for the stop by and comment!
In the bad old cocaine days there were 2 brothers in Miami who got rich from their money counting machine business. They could not keep the machines in parts. It got to the point where folks would meet planes and weigh boxes of money . Say all 100's or 50' so many pound equaled so much. Then they would give a receipt subject to counting. In addition when the Federal reserve needed cash money they would not go to the giant districts but would go to the Atlanta district because Miami was in that district.
Having said all that there are some pretty strict procedures and tracking mechanisms in place to follow this money and banks can and are convicted of money laudering . So there are more controls on this stuff than you would think
WOW!! That's an incredible story. I read spy and terrorists novels and this story is far better. And that is a very sad state of affairs. What the hell is wrong with this world?
