Redding CA - On the I-5 to Mount Shasta is Castle Craigs State Park

We took a trip up to Dunsmuir and combined that with a side adventure to Castle Craigs.

We use to live 25 minutes from Yosemite Valley and so we love the majestic power of Nature's glacier work.

The park is beautiful and worth the trip. The wildlife includes Black-tailed deer, California Quail, Bobcat, Canada Geese, Coyote, Mountain Lion, Spotted Owl, Bald Eagle (we saw one fishing on Lake Shasta), Black Bear, Pronghorn Black Bear and Rattlesnake.

The trees in the park are Sugar Pine, White Fir, Mountain Hemlock, Incense Cedar, Lodgepole Pine, Ponderosa Pine, and Douglas Fir. We enjoyed our trip. You will enjoy the park more when you plan a hike on one of their beuatiful trails.

Our good friends and neighbors just purchased a home in Redding.  I'm sure the wonderful scenery near by is part of the reason.

Jeanean - You continue to get better and better with your picture taking skills.  You live in such a great area of California, it's wonderful that you are able to capture some of the scenes for us.
