Jeanean Gendron, Your Shasta County Real Estate Specialist: Celebrating Ginger - Puppy of Light and Asking for Forgiveness!

Celebrating Ginger - Puppy of Light and Asking for Forgiveness!

Well we have a skinny puppy now. Ginger, our Golden Retriever is quite the hand full when it comes to giving her a haircut. It takes both David and myself to do the job and when we are done...we are all done in. The three of us are completely exhausted and need 24 hours to recover. We have grown tired of the ordeal....all of us. As we have had a heavy load with the HUD work lately, we finally gave in and took her to the Groomers for a bath, haircut and nail trim. We were horribly lonely while she was gone and both felt like there was a hole in our Universe. We called twice to make sure that everything was going well.

We picked her up and felt so thankful to have a clean puppy and to have her back with us once again. She seemed to be okay but the next day was somewhat depressed. She has since adjusted and we are all loving having her smell good and having her coat taken care of. The world is a better place for us all and I am celebrating with a series of photos of our beautiful friend and companion. Ginger, the puppy of light! We have also been making amends with treats and special caring love.

We are so blessed to have this fine companion in our lives. She makes us laugh!

She is amazing in her intelligence. She can out think us at every turn.

She can look you right in the eye and see all the way to your Soul! She is a puppy of light!

Thanks for sharing and celebrating our puppy with us. These were magical shots of her in the evening time. I love them because we really do think of her as a puppy of light.

GiGi is a beauty and I can relate to her being the light of your world.  Dixie's quiet good standing still as we groom her.  It takes about 2.5  hours to get it all complete including her shave, nails, teeth and bath!  We are all 3 exhausted as you are when the grooming task is over!

David, thanks for stopping by to share this post about our puppy. Goldens are indeed wonderful. Have a great Sunday!

Jeanean,

Gigi is beautiful.  Do you think the song "Gigi" to her?  We have seen that movie a zillion times, and I would happily see it again.  Isn't amazing how furry creatures rule our lives and we are happy to have them do that.  A

Hello Pam, the photos had a magical aspect to them. We have always referred to her as a "Puppy of Light" and these photos seem to capture that element. They were special to us. Happy Sunday!

Jane, we are too...we could hardly bare to have her in someone else's care. We had tried it once before and could not bare it. She wears us down, however. This was not too bad and may be better for us all. Sure glad to get her home. Hope your Sunday was perfect!

Alexandra, she is not quite so beautiful right now as she got a severe cut but we love her so much and actually like having her be a skinny puppy now. We bought her a sweater so that she is not cold at night. She had some mats on the hind quarters that she does not allow me to comb and so they had to do a "puppy" cut. We like it but don't want her to be cold. She is a treasure and a blessing for us. She has filled a big hole in our Universe and makes us so happy. Hope your had a beautiful Sunday. I think each day is beautiful for you two.

Jeanean - Ginger looks like a wonderful companion for you!  I have an American Eskimo, which I bathe at least once a month.  Kodi Bear loves the process, but I swear it seems to wear me out more each time we go through the process, especially on the occassions when I clip her down for summer.  You wouldn't believe how much thick white fur can accummulate on a dog:-)   I notice Kodi seems more relaxed and quiet for the rest of the day, after being cleaned up.  I think it's the same as a spa day for humans.

Your photos of your beloved pet are priceless!

Roy, that might be my all time fav flower photo. I love how the inner petals match the background. Beautiful, my friend. Have a great day!

Myrl, you would laugh if you could see the three of us after the three ring circus of getting a haircut and a bath. We are pretty comical. It wore us all out so badly last time that I resolved to try something different. It was easier on us but I am not so sure that it was easier on her. Thank you for the visit. It's always nice to have you come by. Have a great week!

He Jeanean,

Mine love to go to the groomers and my terrier gets her nails painted hot pink each time. It is so quiet when they are gone and love it when I get them home. They are such little girlies.....bows and scarfs too.

Jeanean - Gigi is gorgeous (but I don't have to tell you that!)  Isn't it amazing how much we miss our furry friends when they are away from us, even for a little while?  And then how much they can guilt us into giving them extra treats because of their "ordeal"....  :-)

I was born to wait on animals and they look at me and know it.  I moved the huge horse soccer ball across two fences and an irrigation ditch today so the neighbor's horse could play with it for a while.  He hangs over the fence and so obviously wants to play when my horses have it.

So I think it is quite normal that Gigi Rules your lives.  She is stunning.

Kristin, I love your little girls and enjoy when you give us photos of them. I am glad they enjoy it. Ginger is pretty depressed for a day or two but we hope that she will get use to is. We have to combine it with some good memory for her and I am sure that will help. We have a number of traditions now and she sure notices if we don't show up with the promised item. Thanks for the visit and for sharing our puppy with us. We are so fortunate to have sweet puppies that love us. Have a grea week, Kristin!

Karen, you are right. I could not believe how much I missed her. We leave her at home and she is so sad when we have to leave her. I felt like she does when we go away. We try to take her with us as much as possible and only leave her 3-4 hours at a time. But we know she does not like it. She hides in my office under my desk. Makes us sad. Thanks for sharing our puppy with us. We do love her. Have a great day!

Marge, you are amazing. I can't see you moving that ball. I wish we were closer so that we could come and play and help you move the ball. I've loved horses all my life. Grew up on a cattle and sheep ranch in West Texas. I've never managed to own my own horse(s) though and would love to see yours. Take some photos for us so I can know your horses. Love it! You are a girl after my own heart! Have a great day!

Hi Jeanean, thanks for stopping by. I see you are in California. My feet touched the Cali sand for the first time this past October. I flew into Long Beach to catch a business cruise to Mexico. I didn't get to see too much but just enough to make me want to go back and explore. Have you always lived there? I am originally from Fort Myers Florida. Once the sand is in your toes you always long to go home.
