Hi Jeanean - Thanks for posting some great information for everyone affected by this news.
Featured in BananaTude!
Jeanean - done and done. I'm really so mad that I have to redo my slide shows in another venue. This is a big time gobbler.
Hi Jeanean, Ok..signed, facebooked and tweeted. As soon as I get home from my open house I'll re-blog as well. Thank you for this! I really would hate to see my fave photo editing site go away.

Thank you.
Whenever you use an online resource you run the risk it will disappear. I can assure you there are probably not enough people on AR that use Picnik to convince a company the size of Google to change their business plan.
AR may have over 200,000 members, but they are not all active and many of us use software we purchased that won't "leave town in the middle of the night". Also, you overlook the fact Picnik will be available on Google+
I commend you for your effort and wish you success, but I seriously suggest you search for another venue
When the CEO of Picnik asks for support from AR members it is should be obvious he is no longer in charge
Jeanean - I was so disappointed when I logged into Picnik yesterday and saw this.
Karen, I do think all that you say is obvious. Most of us have read and informed ourselves. I am aware of the future plans of Google as are most of the readers of this post.
I am a person of passion and I do think it is worth a try. I see miracles happen everyday when hearts come together to make a difference. I believe in the magic of good intention and people coming together to make a difference. We had SOPA (Stop On-line Piracy Act, backed by the government) recently and Google and Wikipedia stood up. I will always have the good intention to believe that we can make a difference and to stand up. It is all about choices and we are entering a new time when we can make a difference.
I don't prefer the "Big Business" surrendering of my soul. Open source, collaboration and value driven products are the future.
Good job for going after something you believe in. Will be interesting to see how this ends up.
I signed the petition as well. It is the best photo editing tool and so easy to use. Let's hope it works.
Jorden, thanks for setting us straight here. It really does not matter....we all love Picnik and want to keep it around. I own Photoshop, Photoshop Elements and I use GIMP, Picasa, Aperture and I love Picnik the best. I can take a slightly off kilter photo of a house that I did not get quite straight and I can adjust that in 1 easy step. Mouse Click turn and done. That is pretty amazing. I can probably do all that in the afore mentioned apps but not in a mouse click AND CERTAINLY NOT FOR FREE. Thanks for your effort and thank you for the petition and giving us a voice. You might want to put some disclosure on the petition and Fan Page. It does appear that you are the CEO of Picnik. I am glad about it all and I still think that if we hit Google with major SEO which AR has the ability to do....well it is worth a try. I for one will be there! Thank you for coming on to clear things up.
No problem! Thanks for the support! And yes, I also started the petition. I hope we can make a difference. :)
What complete and utter nonsense. Picnik was sold almost two years ago. However charming, this guy is a nut on FB. Do people not follow up anymore before jumping on a bandwagon?
AR really should put a disclaimer on this.
Leslie, thanks for contributing here. It does appear that it is not what it appeared to be. We are an open forum and that gives great value to the discussion and the discourse. It gives us an opportunity to find the way. There is a community here within the RAIN that love and use the product. We rallied. Please forgive us for that. We should be more discerning when we engage in things. My Bad. It started back several days ago and here we are. We still love the product and we don't want it to go away. The petition is still valid and can produce SEO that could influence Google. Opinions differ and diversity is a celebration. I have gone back and notated the post.
Hello All, this has pretty well done me in. I've tried to take the afternoon off and just put out this quick little post about an application that I depend upon and truly love. I did not think it would be featured. I would so like to see it stay available. It seems that now this post is controversional. I apologize for not having researched it thoroughly. I responded to posts by others and to FB. I do that most every day. I did think this was an official effort by Picnik since the same verbage is on the site. The phrase "Google, don't be the ants in our Picnik" is all over the site.
Have a good evening and I'm still hoping that we do not lose the product. Only good intentions going on here.
Well I hope this works out for the folks that use and need picnik, I finally decided to purchase and actually learn photoshop and have been pretty happy with it.
I signed the petition and will like the fan page on facebook. I love Picnik! :)
Jeanean, my support is with the cause. I'll reblog, sign the petition and LIKE IT on FB. I would rather pay a small fee, than to loose it altogether.
I am really, really disappointed to lose my cool blogging collage tool. Looking for a substitute is no fun and difficult to get done.
I never used it much. Being a MAC user I have iPhoto and Aperture that are super simple. I'll go sign it to help out the community though.
I never used Picnik and now I wish I had known about it!! Oh well. :(
Hi Jeanean,
I just read Debra's site and followed the links. I just tweeted, sent it to FB and signed the petition. Thanks so much.
Got my $24.95 refund today, so if they DO save it I'll have to sign up all over again! But I don't think it's gonna be saved, sad to say...
