Great info Jean. I have heard some rumors that the county is limiting the public from having functions and gatherings on Mt Shasta, is that true?

Frank, Mount Shasta has long been protected. You are still able to used the park, however. You must get permits and apply for climbing expositions. I think it remains available to the public the same as any of our national parks. They do takes environmental steps to protect the land. When you say functions and gatherings, I am not sure what your are referring to. There are several areas that you could do group gatherings. I am not aware of any changes. We visit Mount Shasta several times a year and we were there in September. Thanks for commenting. I hope this answers your question.
