The Cosmic Dance and Active Rain ~ Synergistic Self-Organizing Improvement!

connectionHave you ever had THAT listing that you wondered if you should have passed on. There are some listings that I DO NOT take. It can depend, but mostly it is because I don't fit the client.

I walk the talk, so to speak. How committed are you to embracing change and evolving your self and your business? Sometimes it not about quantity by quality! Do we have the courage to create that business endeavor that raises the bar for ourselves and our clients. Bare with me as I make some points and explore this thought.

I am passionate about real estate and my work. My values for work were cast in stone when I worked for Apple Computer. Apple for me established the "evangelist" model of work and life. The definition of "evangelist" is that level of evolution with your customer that ends up having them sell your product. It is the highest level relationship you can have with your client.

As a Realtor, I have been a referral agent and most of my business comes from the work I have done and the relationships I have built with my clients. I am passionate and I believe in the good work I do. I also believe in the inherent goodness of all things. This comes from my belief system. They are synergistic.

CDIt is not about the money and it never has been. If ever the idea of a decision is conflicted by any connection to money your performance ability is in jeopardy. I have always said, I will do what is right for the client no matter what. No matter how complicated that becomes, there is no decision as to my fiduciary responsibility to put the welfare of my client first. Piece of cake....done!

I did this long before becoming a Realtor. I got into team development at Apple. The core reason that this happened was because I became known as a person who could listen to other perspectives and problem solve to a WIN/WIN. I liked and embraced change and improving our communication and business development process. I started helping my group to see radical improvement through trust, honesty and group goals.

Now, back to the concept of creating your business and raising the bar of evolution for yourself and your client.

My husband and I use to call it "co-evolution" and it meant that wonderful natural process and relationship of co-evolving elements. When synergy does a handshake, the cosmic dance is present. Some refer to it as the Shiva/Shakti principle and some the Ying/Yang principle. It has many names and is described in many traditions. It is the dance of life. It comes from within and connects with outer. It can be described as CONNECTION!

I love Active Rain because of the connection element and because it provides me the opportunity to connect with synergistic people in my profession.

It truly helps each and every one of us raise the bar for ourselves and for our clients. It is a formulaic improvement process for real estate. Advanced level business development at its' best!

We not only have the courage but by being part of this forum and contributing, we are in the present moment creating the future of our business endeavor!

Thanks for listening. I am still so excited to have found a self-organizing system for improvement!

Happy Holidays to All! See you soon!

Jeanean...

Ahhh...That looks much better. It's easier to read :)

Now...About the post itself. Love it :)

Many years ago Blog Boy (Broker Bryant) and I decided that it's best to pass on listings that we either know we can't sell or we just don't mesh well with the Seller's.

This decision was one of the best decisions we have ever made for our business.

Not to mention the fact that saying "Nope" to a listing is...Well...Very liberating :)

P.S. Getting jacked on coffee here and that's all your fault :)

TLW...ROAR!

TLW, I am glad you approve.  I follow my gut when it comes to people or problems. I once let a listing go because the person was so "top down". They were an executive for a large company in the bay area and I could tell it was "trouble from the get go". I was a new agent and I really needed to sell that property....but I talked it over with David and we did it. The client later sued just about everybody involved in the transaction. That was my gut feeling. Plus she wasn't fun or nice. I like to work with nice people. Most people are nice even though they come from diverse places and professions (that's the part I like the best). Thanks for helping with the squirmy puppies and for the visit! Nice to have you here and I'll see you soon. It is rather like knowing there is someone safeguarding the RAIN! Yes, coffee, coffee and more coffee!
