Defining Your Blog ~ Planning and Building Your Blog Infrastructure ~ A Whole New Level!

coneAs I progress in my development as a blogger, it has begun to dawn on me that like everything else in my life, planning and development go hand and hand.

I have found that a need to plan and build has emerged in my consciousness surrounding my blogging. I am finding that I desire to build more timeless blogs that will provide me link-back opportunities to build richer post for my readers. While I have refined and tuned up my posts, I now desire to embed depth. Building on several key elements about my market, I can build over time an information base by which my posts become contributions to information niches for my market. The effort is conceive with the need to have a more timeless effect and longer lasting presence.

As software developers, my husband and I have always had a technology plan that makes an attempt to go out 5 years. You can never really be effective to the 5 year mark due to the nature of changing technology. However, just the act of planning has an effect. I alway told my software development clients that you should have a 5 year business development plan and co-development plan for technology in support of your primary business plan. It is only natural that I would look at blogging in a similar fashion.

Redding and Shasta County are known for diverse environment and beauty of three surrounding mountain ranges. I am interested in providing my consumer the best level of information I can conceive of on the local topography and demographics. I aspire to provide the consumer with well written post that intrigue and develop rappore with the reader. I intend to provide real estate information about our market and market values and the diverse lifestyles that we offer in our area. Relocation and Corporate Relocation will be two areas of concentration along with luxury market. First Time Home Buyers, Investors and Short Sale information and resources will also be part of this infrastructure. I am looking forward to this investment that will hopefully come to benefit the consumer and provide a more lasting resource of information and knowledge about my market. The end result will be a blog that has depth and more lasting information value.

Note: I am currently downsizing and moving. I will eventually post my re-worked Sustainable Business Model for Real Estate soon. Thanks for your patience. It requires a join effort between David and myself....which is having some logistical problems at present.

Jeanean...

I did not have a plan when I started Blogging.

I still don't have a plan.

I know I should but hey...I enjoy living in the moment and by the seat of pants :)

P.S. BB rules Google...My presence is not necessary. For now :)

Jeanean--I do not have a blogging plan either other than to continue with localism posts and be somewhat consistant. I have noticed that your posts are more defined into a template type format than previously...Hitting those keywords. Good for you if it works! Hope you are settled in soon.

Teri, thanks for commenting. It is true....that I took it a bit too template like. You get this bit of info and implement and then you read a post on how you should not hammer the reader. All about learning and I guess that is what I am trying to suggest. Don't want a template feeling, but solid level of information base and building a presence of usefulness. Is that a word? Thanks for stopping by and you comment regularly so I know you can see how things are changing for me. Thanks for the visit!

TLW,....boy Teri was on target. It's great to just have fun and I do like that aspect. I would not want to do without it. I do want to provide useful information to the consumer and I have been being more heavy handed with my niche markets. I want to lighten that up a bit and work on good writing and getting that useful information about our area out....keeping it lighter and then post more expert level posts that have more variety as well. I've been shot gunning without specific targets in mind. What can I say, I am a planner. Can't change my spots! Thanks for the visit. I always like hearing from you and getting advice!

Oh great, now I need a blogging business plan too!  :-)

Actually, you are quite "write" about it.  I tend to be all over the place, but having a plan immediately provides focus and direction.  All I need now are a few 48 hour days...

I'm curious, do you blog anywhere other than AR?
