Jeanean Gendron, Your Shasta County Real Estate Specialist: ActiveRain ~ Build It and They Will Come ~ Field of Dreams!

ActiveRain ~ Build It and They Will Come ~ Field of Dreams!

flowersKevin Cosner in "Field of Dreams" kept hearing "Build It and They Will Come". When we first got to Redding and after three months, I had no real leads and the market was dead slow....I told my husband.....we need to start building what we do best......a website with every conceivable thing a seller or buyer might wants to know about Redding Real Estate and buying or selling real estate in Shasta County. I did not close a deal for another 4 months. I've been building our business ever since, one slow step at a time in a declining market. I started to blog in 9/07 and began incorporating blogging into our web strategy.

Our business is growing. My work and investment in blogging is netting results with 2 short sales clients and 2 first time home buyer clients, a mini ranch listing and now an interview with the Record Searchlight on our web presence and blogging and how unusually our perspective and approach is to being "Realtors".

I kept telling my husband, that if we built it....it would bring the business. We typically get 60% of our business off our websites. I think we will now see that number improve. The unknown surprise in all of this has been blogging and the joy of learning in the ActiveRain environment. So many good and generous people sharing such rich and beneficial information is still to me an astonishing gift. That you have opportunity to grow your business is wonderful, but that you can develop on a personal basis makes for a richer experience.

I am very grateful to ActiveRain and to the membership for the opportunity to be part of this great thing we are about. Having just gotten over the flu and an automobile accident....I am at a loss for big words to describe what we do here....I just know it is magic and I am grateful for being part of the future here in the RAIN! Thank you ActiveRain!

I am so anxious to get back to work....I have so much to do and I am so excited about the future!

JEANEAN - I hope that you're feeling better.  Sorry to hear about your accident.  I think that during the slower market, many people didn't know what to do with themselves.  I'm very happy that I found AR when I did, because it allowed to be still be productive and do things that would generate future business.

Jeanean, it's always so nice to have my excitement for internet marketing mirrored. You do such a nice job on your sites, it must be an extremely time consuming process. Glad to hear it's paying off. Thanks for making me feel like my time investment is worthwhile!

Hi Jeanean!  i hope your ankle is feeling much better.  You are picking up clients because your blog is wonderful!  You are knowledgeable and thorough in all your writing.  i know this attention to detail must be a part of the way you operate your business all the time.  I'm going to have to take some lessons from your website.  I hope you don't mind me poking around!  BTW, your pictures of Shasta make me want to start driving north right now.  Our state is SO beautiful, from way down south all the way to the top.

Hello Colleen! You can never say you know the future....but I think we do. The web and technology will continue to become a key element of helping clients in real estate. We should have an email or phone conversation. We can talk about how David and I do manage the sites. Once they are built....not so hard! I have to qualify it by saying that they would not be doing so well without the partnering of blogging. Thanks for stopping by Colleen!

Elaine, thanks for all the nice things you say. Yes, our state is beautiful from top to bottom. Elaine, let's have an email or better telephone conversation about our websites. It is really very simple. It can save you time and money. I didn't really know where I was going with it all until rather recently. Blogging was the missing piece. This post is about "Divine" help and I wasn't kidding. I really didn't know where it was all going until blogging started connecting the pieces. I'd just love to talk to you about it anytime!
