The Shasta County Area has a diverse topography from the 300 foot elevation of  White Oaks, Blue Oaks, Black Oaks, Live Oaks and the California Sycamore surrounding the city of Redding. As you move out to surrounding areas you move up in elevation gradually and the topography changes to Digger Pine, Knobcone Pine, California Buckeye and Ponderosa Pine.

* 2000-4000 we are known to have Digger Pine, Ponderosa Pine, Knobcone Pine and Incense Cedar. * 4000-6000 we have Sugar Pine, White Fir, Incense Cedar, White Alder and Douglas Fir and Big Leaf Maple * 6000-8000 we have Jeffrey Pine, Giant Sequoia, Red Fir * 8000-10000 we have Lodgepole Pine, Mountain Hemlock, Quaking Aspen and Western Juniper * 10,000-12,000 we have Western White Pine, Foxtail Pine, Whitebark Pine and Limber Pine
