AS we took a day trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park this past week, I was amazed at the beauty and richness of this tall forested wildland. Because of the volcanic nature of the park, I expected to only see dry and barren volcanic land. I was a misconception on my part. The park has amazing diversity in areas and topography.
There are four different areas of the park each with a specific ecosytem and climate. The park abounds with nature and diversity of trees, wildlife and wildflowers. We used to live 45 minutes from Yosemite National Park and the valley and 1.5 hours from the high country of Yosemite. We grew to love identifying the trees and wildflowers.
